I’ve planned Thailand golf trips for 20 plus years, here is what I’ve learned.
Thailand is like my second home, I have been visiting since the late 90’s and whenever I am touching down for the next trip, I still get excited. But in those years, I have seen a lot of changes and learned a lot, probably forgotten a fair bit too. Thailand is spoilt by riches with its culture, its food, its fabulous year-round weather, stunning beaches and its golf. Oh its golf!!
In the 20plus years I have been coming here, I have seen so much development in the golf, with courses rivalling any in the world. The attraction of warm golf is appealing to many, but when you factor in all the other benefits you receive when you are here, its appeal goes through the roof. As mentioned, you have the food, the beaches the shopping and everything of the course. Yet, on the course you get so much more too!
In Thailand virtually all courses include a buggy as standard, I mean walking in 30+ degrees is not fun for most, but if you wanted too you could. Then you get a caddy, this isn’t a bagman, this is a highly trained caddy who after a few holes will probably know your game better than you. Passing you a 7 iron not an 8iron as you think, helping you read putts and somehow finding a ball you deemed as gone forever! A caddy is worth their weight in gold. Trust me when I say the first round back home, when you expected to push your own trolley, figure out your own line and dear God clean your clubs yourself. You will be wondering how you ever coped.
With all these glorious benefits, you now are left with a choice, where do you play?
Well, this is where 20 years golf planning experience really comes to the front! You can almost find a golf course in any region of the country these days but finding them is only part of the battle.
With popularity comes scarcity, trying to get the tee times you won’t well good luck doing it alone. Knowing which courses to play on which days, comes with experiences, having connections at the courses, comes with years of hard work and support. Knowing which courses have known for dreaded slow play, well we have that and we share with you.
